This website was created on behalf of The Homewood Cemetery Historical Fund in an effort to make available to researchers records pertaining to the history and landscape design of The Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The website may be considered an artificial archival collection in that a small percentage of the actual archival collection of the cemetery has been chosen for digitization based on the thematic imperative of the website. This digitized archival collection is intended to further discussion of historic American cemeteries in general and the place of The Homewood Cemetery within that context specifically.
