1905 Rules and Regulations Book

The Homewood Cemetery produced Rules and Regulations books in 1878, 1905, 1912, and 1924.

The decision to digitize the 1905 book is based largely on the size of the book and the clarity of both its typeface and photographs.  The 1878 book has no photographs whatsoever and the 1912 and 1924 editions are oversized and proved too unwieldy to provide a clear scanned image.  Also, 1905 falls in the middle of a very active era for the cemetery, an era during which the landscape design was extended to new sections and the original sections were growing into their intended look and feel.  The photographs, rules, and suggestions to lot owners all illuminate the mindframe of this time.
