Hill Monument

The J.B. Hill cenotaph shows some of the liberties Americans took with the traditional Egyptian obelisk. In this instance, the sahft of the obelisk is both banded in the middle and capped on the top. Note the uniformity of headstones suggested by the cemetery is not adhered to in this lot.
